View Full Version : Adding Virtual Site to Raq4

Hello Everybody,

I just got a dedicated server from Rackshack about a month ago. I was able to configure the master domain using many online sources, and I have a few questions on how to set up a virtual site.

So this is how far I got. I created a new Virtual Site. Created two (A) records (www.domain.com, domain.com) pointing to the correct IP address. When I was setting up master domain I configured my own ns1 and ns2 (both (PTR) records), of course with two additional IP's. My question would be How do I point that new Virtual Site to the ns1 and ns2 of the master domain.

Also, I had created two more (A) records for my master domain pointing to the main IP address for the SMTP and POP3 (smtp.masterdomain.com, pop3.masterdomain.com). Now my next question is How do I enable that new Virtual Site to use smtp and pop3 of the main domain? Do I create another (A) record or creating (MX) record for that new site would be enough?

After doing all this, is there anything else I should do ?

I would really appreciate if anybody would be so kind to answer my questions.

Thank you, and Regards,

Nash:)

I don't run DNS on mine, but I always tell people to skip the pop/smtp thing and just use domain.com as the POP/SMTP server (when you input it in your email client), which saves you from having two addl. entires to set up each time, etc...
