Got a Standard Poodle(the big ones) he's about 7 almost 8 now and still acts like a puppy. Love him to death, sleeps in the bed with my folks and is named Basil, thought we'd add a little spice to our lives.

They live with my parents and they aren't really mine, but I picked them out :stickout So here they are:

Breed: Dalmatian
Age: 6 years
Name: Dodger

Breed: Staffordshire Terrior
Age: Unknown (adopted after she had previous owners, we think she was about 2 so she'd be 6 or 7 now)
Name: Lyla

Here's one of both of them:

I understand completely if you mean it acts more like a person than a dog, but if your reffering to its size or demnor then I can't.

Age: 3yr
Name : Bella

Loves to play with cats and kids.
Her original owners gave up all their non-white pets when they redecorated. Best dog I ever had.

We have two German Sheps.:)

ROX OFF ??Her original owners gave up all their non-white pets when they redecorated.??
What happens if they change the colors again?, only purple pets???

Odd Fact

I hope all their pets have better homes now. The rescue group I foster for found home for three off the pets. The sad thing is that in not the first time I have seen this excuse.

bear

That's sad. We get all of our pets from the shelter, and always have. I even spent the last 2 years working with the local SPCA on maintaining their web site and local networking. This past July, I passed this on to one of their employees after training her.

2 Yorkshire Terriers, each one is 2 pounds (0.90 kilos). Full grown, yes. :D

Deb
01-06-2003, 04:49 PM
It really is sad :( Our rotty was a pound puppy as well and I have NO complaints with him, or our two cats (also rescues) or any of the other animals we've rescued. (Current Pet Count - Four turtles, One Hamster, One Parrot, One dog, Two Cats, & 5 Fish Aquariums..)

There are times when a pet just isn't working out with a particular family for a variety of reasons and those are the times that the family, which felt 'responsible enough to invite the pet into their home', needs to be responsible enough to ensure a good home for the pet is found w/o always taking the 'easy way out' and dumping it in a shelter that is already overloaded enough. Though I would agree the shelter drop is better than just dumping the pet entirely.

If color coordination is the goal get a Salamander...sshhheesshhh

I think humans forget, all too often, the the 'cute and cuddly' today has long term needs and we sadly fail to meet those obligations for what are often selfish reasons

Hats off to those that aid in the rescue vs purchase efforts!

This is Keesha, 5 year old Samoyed/Doberman cross.

Friendliest dog you'll ever meet. Attempted once to use as collection dog for late-paying clients, ended up playing frisbee for 4 hours.

I have a Rottweiler that will be 8 years old in March - Cayenne

I have a Chow Mix of some sort that is About 5 Years old - Chico

I have a Pit Bull that is about 2 years old - Just Plain Joe

I am driving to Springfield on Saturday to rescue another Pit Puppy 8 weeks. - Butterscotch (we think)

I will only take a dog from a rescue shelter.. too many dogs die each year to pay for backyard breeders to make a few $$$
