If you would like help starting up email me--- cheatman@cheatman.net xwebdesigner 05-03-2001, 03:41 PM I though about starting up my own server too but doesn't that take a hella of a cash load to get started and what about all the head achs. CrazyHostGuy 05-03-2001, 03:43 PM Yes, you should definately go with reselling first, especially if you're unsure what's involved. For those new to it, it's better not to get immediately involved with renting your own server, since you may not be able to trouble shoot as well as someone with more experience. Sign up with a reseller package with a reputable hosting company, and start that way. Then as you become more knowledgeable you can move to your own server. Hope that helps! Site5.com Weinbar Wizardshosting Venturesonline Hosting Matters dtwebworks Have no personal experience with any of them but I have read many good reviews about them. xwebdesigner 05-04-2001, 01:25 PM anyone have some comments on the above listed before I try one of them arc01 05-05-2001, 02:27 AM *first post here* I have been lurking for a while now, but I (like probably most people here) have done a LOT of background research into hosting providers.. To answer your question, I'd have to say that venturesonline seem to have a very good reputation on this board. I am using them and despite their 'issues' with VDI (which they are working through, by shifting to Verio), their customer service has been top-notch. Having said that, I've also heard good things about Weinbar and Wizardshosting. Those would be my three picks, but I can recommend venturesonline.com from my own (albeit brief) experience with them! Hope that helps a little :) ksstudio 05-05-2001, 10:52 AM Hello there, All 6 Host mentioned above got a very good reputation on this board. And I am with VO, I resell for VO. VO will move to VERIO's data center very soon, (propably due to VDI's issues - I guess) You may find the thread here: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=10138 or the thread from their forum: http://www.venturesonline.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=370 After the move I am sure the service provided by VO will even better. I am very happy with VO along the way with their kind & fast customer support. I will get a dedicated server from then also very soon. Good Luck! |
