What do you do when you find out that a site your hosting has a striking similarity to a site that you found on the web.

To be blunt, its a rip.

how to figure out who ripped who and what do you do about it? Or should you just stay out of it and not say anything?

I would think that the host should atleast do something, but contacting the client and inquiring about it may not be the way to go. The client could have been the one to rip the site.

What would you do?

Although I've never had this happen to me, I would stay out of it. By hosting the site, as long as you have a well-written (laywer advised) TOS and AUP, you should be legally ok.

Website rips happen all the time, and it's really up to the creater to do anything about it. If you really want to get involved, I would send the owner of the other site (the one you aren't hosting) and tell them politely the situation you're in, so as to inform them if they wish to take legal action.

It's your call, but personally, I wouldn't do a thing.

Problem is you don't know which one is a rip... so by contacting the other site you could actually be contacting the ripper.

I am not saying that i will be getting involved, personally i wish to just stay out of it. But it is a good question to get opinions on. :)

Has anyone complained to you about this site? If not why are you even worrying?

When someone complains, then I'd look into it. Until then I wouldn't even spend a second worrying about it, there are so many template sites out there who says it isn't a template? I've used some of those $25 non-exclusive use templates before in the past myself and it ain't uncommon to find someone else using the same template as you.
