Which is better for a Webhost Merchant Account.

PaySystems or 2Checkout.

Please post any negative and/or Positive experiences

Anyways, Paysystems is better IMHO, 2checkout is cheaper I thinkg but paysystems has good tech support.

there are a million of these threads.. after reading too many of them, using 2checkout myself & working for a company that used paysystems, I'd say they're both as good as the other.

No idea on paysystems, 2checkout has been too much of a nightmare to even look for more third party processors. Most of our business is now done with our own merchant facility.

I have seen and used PaySystems control panel. Truely amazing!

2Checkout could update their control panel however...:/

A few points as we have used both

2Checkout is only cheaper if you are selling low dollar items. Anything over about $50 and Paysytems is cheaper.

2Checkout doesn't answer their phones, doesn't answer their emails and answers their forum only when it is to delete threads.

Paysystems has a live chat service for support, has always answered my emails within 12 hours and has a great phone support team.

2Checkout does not pay on time. Paysystems does.

The admin panel and features of Paysystems are far better than 2checkout and they have quite a few features that really make things easier for the merchant.

When I started changing over to Paysystems I was actually shocked and pleasantly surprised at their operation. Hopefully it will continue. If I had to recommend one over another, Paysystems ALL THE WAY. I would recommend NOT using 2checkout unless you are a glutton for punishment.

If you use ModernBill in combination with PaySystems (once there is an official release), will the client receive a paid invoice from both PaySystems and ModernBill on recurring charges?

I pondered same issues over before.
Revecom has a great control panel and built in client/billing management. So do need really for something as costly as Moderbill or the lesser phpManager??

Well considering I have the client/billing management already, all I really need is something that makes it easier to setup accounts (non automatic).
So I went w NIXT, hell its free and can easily be fixed to work perfect w/ newest Cpanel and https: ! (And I don't know jack about coding and figured it out, its that easy)

IMHO try to go the simplest first, you can always get MB or phpManager later, you can't save spent money.

**No offense to MB or phpMAnager -- Both great products!!
Just IMHO best fit w/ revecom.**

I can't make any sense of NIXT. If you are not a programmer, or really technical I have no idea how you would get NIXT up and running.

I am in support of these 'open' projects, but for how cheap other systems are - is it really worth the time?

Paysystems has just started something which has many hosts uncomfortable.

They have added a checked box to all payment pages that reads, "Yes! I would like to donate $1.00 to cancer research." This box is pre-checked.

Problems I personally see with this:

* hosting client may not notice the box - it's not in a different format, it's not in a larger text size, it may be visually overlooked as the client gets right down to the goal of entering their credit card information to make the payment

* the option is pre-checked. This is known as "opt-out" and is not exactly legit in Canada and parts of Europe.

* I don't yet know the process that will happen if one of my hosting clients makes a payment, then wonders what that phantom $1.00 charge on their credit card is.

* the text doesn't clearly state that the link is placed there by Paysystems, not by the individual hosts

One way around this is to get it noticed on your page when they order. Sorry for short answers but im a n00b at this stuff

the donation link was removed already, fortunately. due to WHT efforts

::deleriously happy dance::

I was a bit worried - I was sending repeated "Please remove this link" with the URLs to the various WHT threads, and only ever receiving their canned responses which often included the words "we thank you for your cooperation with this new program".

I'm definitely checking out nixt.org. I already have Modern Bill and phpmanager for another business, although I will still check it out.

We have old customers in the Paysystems system before we got a merchant account and they have always been billed on time and the panel is nice. Better for high priced items then 2checkout as someone else mentioned.

We did have problems with an amazing amount of fraudulant transactions when we were with them. They seem to have lot's of chineese based domains that were trying to get hosting, so we were dollared to death by Paysytems and left for a merchant account. Funny, the high rate of fraudulent orders went away with them. I feel there are many individuals just searching for hosting companies using them.

They have always been plagued by slow response and database errors, many versions later maybe they are getting it right, I hear another is coming, maybe why they are down right now?

As for 2checkout. I used them and tossed them out just about as fast as I signed up. They had unusually rude support people, the women in billing are complete witches and I'd never use them again for anything or advise anyone else to either. They have unusually high chargeback prices and even claimed chargebacks that did not come from our system at all. Thats was enough for me.

Anyways of the two, I'd only use Revecom/Paysystems, it is the more professional of the two.

But if you can afford a real merchant account, don't hesitate, get one.

Does revecom charge for chargebacks only (and how much) or do they charge you for fraudulant orders too? So each time someone gets a fraudulant order, you get charged? How much do you get charged?

Did Paysystems ever explain why that link appeared? I think its a rather an interesting thing for a corporation to do. Did they mention to what foundation it was going to? If all the problems living_media mentioned were cleared up, would any of you still object to it?

I would have to think this one out.

By the way, there is a someone on this thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=769578#post769578) talking about Wells Fargo's credit card processing services - That's news to me - and some referal program.
