View Full Version : Shopping for extremely quality logo. Where does $50-75 (+ Bonuses) take me?

Hello Designers,

ATTN: Please take two extra minutes to look through all my message instead of just throwing back replies at me, as this task is crucial to me. It also includes some important vision information. I appreciate your patience.

I'm working on the launch of the new online magazine, a very quality-content source. The investigative-style magazine will hopefully be exclusive and target well-educated people. Although I do not think this will be a profitable venture, I care a great deal about publicity and the amount of knowledge this magazine will share with the public.

I've been working myself on the logo, but I always like to consider the possibilities. I currently have a budget of $50-75 for a logo + Bonuses if everyone will really like the job (a financial bonus, a credit in the magazine (publicity) or anything else that could come to my mind.)

I would like to hear as many offers (hopefully with porfolio of your work - or your's friend's work) and suggestions on how far this offer can take me.

If you ask me about my vision - I like Creative Simplicity, which has a strong memory effect from the advertising point of view.

Since this magazine is not tech related (at all), forget the high-tech style - I will never even consider that. My favorite logos - just to give you an idea, are: Fortune magazine, Amazon.com, SitePoint.com, Qualcomm, or some CNet Network's logos, or the old good AskMe.com' logo (not there anymore)... But at the same time I like the idea of going a little creative with incorporating some innovative design ideas (like the piece of brain for instance or an idea light - should be original work) to the name of the magazine, which is "MindMagazine.com"

The magazine is located at:
http://www.mindmagazine.com/

As you can see, the current logo (which is really a black-font logo on white background) is developed by me (I personally like it), but at the same time I think its way too simple...

So, please, just tell me where my offer could take me in terms of what I shared with you.

This is not an urgent request, so it'll allow us to take time to look for the best person/company to work with (probably long-term). And we will certainly contact the one when the need comes.

In the meantime, I'd apprecite any offers/comments/questions/suggestions. I will certainly try to get back to you a.s.a.p.

Best,

Mekhu

Jeez, people! THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH! This is a very nice thing to say.

Didn't know the logo I've come up with was any good. I still kinda feel it could do more than just state the name of the magazine. You know, for example, SitePoint.com has this neat and extremely good-looking arrow, Amazon.com has this orange arrow underneath the name... Why not have something special too - like Monster.com has the cute green monster - in my case could be human brain element. Is that too un-serious?

PS: Its weird though that no one wants the money nowadays... :D:D:D just kidding.

Yes, nice logo.

However I would try and get magazine to the width of mind, I think it may look better

IMO

This (http://www.virtual-vision.org/misc/mind.gif) would cost you atleast $100...hehe. You can check my portfolio at www.virtual-vision.org and I can develop you a super professional logo.

Honestly, I think you would ruin the perfect simplicity if you added anything to the logo.

My opinion, your mileage may vary.

you need to keep the logo. it may have been accidental, but you really did hit the jackpot.

Hello,
As others have told you, your current logo is nice, however I believe I can take it to next level, by making a logo that is stylish yet professional with a sense of simplicity.

You can review my portfolio at http://www.pixeldaze.com/portfolio

I think I am a perfect canidate not only becuase I work with graphic design, but I also have a good understanding of what you are creating with the online magazine, I recently "launched" a newsletter to help & guide business people in my industry (http://www.pixeldaze.com/newsletter), So I can understand the magazine for non-profit, therefore leading me to create something that can leave a great impression upon your viewers.
I can develop a logo with several concepts to choose from for $60.00 USD.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via any of the methods below. Thank you for your time, I look forward to your response.

Best Regards,
Jeff @ PixelDaze Studios
