HI

thanks for reading my post. im currently looking for advertising on search engines and hosting directories, but to work out how much i can afford to spend (per click) i really need to have some idea of visitors v's signup's.

How many visitors do you get to your site, per month and how many signups does that equate to. Can you also iclude your site, as then i can sort of judge it on the professionalism of the site as well.

cheers

matt

I think you might have a hard time getting any acurate data from people on this topic. If previous threads are anything to go by:

Maybe you can start by working out your cost per acquisition (CPA) then work back and find your required CPC to achieve a profit on every sale ;)

Thats a much better idea. At least you will be working on your numbers and not theirs.

Yeah - it's an imperfect science, plus I think it varies a good bit depending on what range of services you are selling. I think higher end hosting shopers compare and research longer.

That being said - I have seen (or read or heard) as great as 1 in 20 signups from a strong brand with cheap prices, to 1 in 70 for a medium brand with semi-cheap prices, to 1 in hundreds from hosts with no brand, high setup fees and barely competitive plans.

It's a science you can only really figure for yourself and unfortunately sometimes that involves misused ad dollars.

Man u want a tip? Find some way to watch your traffic in real time. It's time consuming but will give you such a better idea of how visitors are reacting to your pages than stats and will help you dial in your signup ratios.
