Hi,

I pointed my domain name to a new server address.. the transfer was complete. My members are able to go to the new server ip.. but my browser is still pointing at the old server ip.

I tried refreshing, tried everything. it still goes to the old address.

Anyone know how I can fix my browser to point my domain name to the new IP?

Thanks

Annette

It's your ISP, not your browser. Run a traceroute to see what IP you get when you trace your site. Also, have your host (or you, if you know how) do a complete lookup on the domain against your ISP's nameservers to see where your ISP thinks the domain is supposed to be. Your ISP may need to have their tables updated.

I wouldn't worry about it. ISPs usually update their tables every couple of days.

They just haven't done it yet.

Indeed. Just give it a few days and it'll work itself out.

I actually have the same problem. The funny thing here is everytime I restart my computer (or every day) it seems like everything changes. I changed my domains DNS almost two weeks ago and it started working correctly after a day or two. Then next day when I typed in the URL it took me to the old server. The day after that it took me to the correct server again, and so on. Yesterday it loaded the correct server, but today when I try it goes to the old server. It has been playing like this for almost two week now. :(
