my year long subscription to Tera Byte is about to end, either im going to renew to 400mb plan or switch to a new server.

I ran across hostrocket.com SPECIAL economy package, which would still be cheaper then tera byte, if i paid for 1 year payment plan.

My question is this: "would you say that this plan is better then the one tera byte is offering?" or am i missing something crucial.

thanks in advance,

chanh

How much cheaper is it?
If you have had a good service from Tera Byte in the last year then maybe you should stick with them.
Cheapest isnt always best!

tera byte is a very outstanding company with their service and customer service. i have also heard of good praises to hostrocket.

cheaper only being within a few dollars or so. im not so concerned with that. what is different, and important to me, is the offered storage space. HR=750mb/37Gig bandwidth vs TB=400mb/26Gig

i also like HR's cp, which isnt really all to important either

stick with TB. You seem to be satisfied with them. If you go to hr's message boards, you wont find many unsatisfied customers, because Hr deletes negative posts. All of my threads were deleted there. While there for a period of 4 months, I was wrongfully charged 120 dollars for resellers fee's, and had to go through the pleasant (not) process of reissuing my credit card because supposedly "a hacker got into their system".

Support was also nonexistant there, not to mention tons of downtime. I dont know how they are now, but this was in Nov.2001-Jan. 2002

fusion,

thanks for the feedback. TB is good, but i couldnt help but shop around incase there was a deal out there.

im thinking that i most likely will stay with TB, i always get into these dilemas. Darn those marketing schemes. i always get suckered in ;)

thanks

Chanh,
Powweb.com just upgraded they basic plan to 500mb webspace, 30gb transfer. No reseller plan though, if that is what you are doing.

Yea if your happy stay with the company that make you happy, a few bucks more isn't worth risking that

Do a search on Powweb first here. You will be surprised.

UmBillyCord,

How can you give any credence to this.
http://webhostingratings.com/plans/PowValue_PowWeb.html All the info about the plan is outdated, very old. You are allowed to rate more than once. One person can totally skew the rating in any way they want.

Has anyone ever tried Featureprice.com ? They seem to be a good service. 5000MB Storage with all the fixn's for $16.95 a month. Great servers too. I have not yet seen a bandwidth cap limit for that plan.

Has anyone else ever tried them? I just signed up for the Platinum Plan (unlimited storage, $24.95 a month). 24/7 tech support by messaging or by phone.

If anyone has ever used them previously, I'd love to hear your feedback.

Spree your post sounds like an advertisment with some questions about them just thrown in

And I can tell you Featureprice.com can't be good because they offer unlimited space:sickface:

From WHR -

Rating: 5.02 out of 10

You seem to know a lot for a 'customer'. I noticed you posted your comments their. Why would someone else's be any less reliable then yours? Also, read the good and the bad. Someone can then see if it is worth their dollars. Also, do a search here. From my experience, in terms of reading here, I would say most people think they suck. But that is judging from what I read. Also, adding a few extra GBs of transfer on an already largely oversold server doesn't make their offering any better. Good support and service does.

Thanks for asking.

UmBillyCord,
Yes, I am a customer. A satisfied customer. All I was saying about how the ratings are calculated at WHR, is that it can be easily manipulated up or down by a satisfied customer or a disgruntled customer.

As far as reading about host here, with the exception of one or two host, which you can even find bad post about those, all host suck. I don't believe that either. I think there are many good hosting companies, but from reading post here at WHT you would think they are all crooks.

Actually it's not an advertisement. I would've posted a link but that's never as interesting as simply posting the important information.

I'm just reading these posts to see what other hosts might exist (incase featureprice decides to shaft me on something in the future).

What I'm wondering is if anyone has ever heard of them or have had them as a host before. I've read their "Satisfied Customers" feedback, but they all sound like people stimulated on high levels of prozac. I'm interested in real feedback to see if I need a heads up.

I could agree with you to a certain degree. However in my readng here, I see their name brought up in a negative fashion far more then the majority of the host here. Also, the WHR reviews had over 70. More then half were negative.

I think it is great you have been successful with them and are pleased. However I feel you are not the norm. ;)

[The thread starter asked specifically if he should leave Tera Byte after one year with them and switch to Host Rocket or not.]

Personally, I have a problem with 1 year deals. Some hosts are known to "kick" clients for little reason which could possibly cause you to lose your money cause you "violated" their terms of agreement or that your sit e used to much server resource.

If your happy, stay with Tera Byte. If you go with Host Rocket, I STRONGLY advise you do not prepay for 1 year. Too many complaints against them in my book. I wouldn't even consider them myself.

If you're happy with your current host there is no reason to switch anyways, if they make you happy then continue to give them your business, thats why companies go out of their way to keep people happy, to maintain their business... give em the reward they deserve and stick with em.

As for the comments on complaints about our company, I honestly don't think you will find very many if any recent complaints about hostrocket at all. I'll admit we have made our share of mistakes in the past few years and made some people unhappy in the process, however I am happy to say that we have learned from them and improved our service in the process. If you check out our rating at findmyhosting.com, you can get a good look at a bunch of recent ratings from actual customers and you can rest assured that the guys at findmyhosting have a pretty good system in place to stop fraudulent reviews.

Wow, good answer.
