View Full Version : Need hosting with friendly "sitebuilder" for my client...
skid2964 01-05-2011, 01:09 AM I need a hosting site that will allow me to upload my clients web site, nothing special, html, css and some java...
BUT.... after I do, they need to be able to login with minimal skills and "add photos" and some content...etc..
There are SO MANY out there that fit this description, was hoping some of you could narrow down my choices...
Thanks...

Sudo-Host 01-05-2011, 02:16 AM Hi skid2964,
I have designed and maintained quite a few websites over the past 6 years and have learned a lot. Now what you have asked with uploading content and images can be done through cPanel's file manager. It will let you upload your files and it also has a file editor to edit the code.
Now I'm assuming your client will be adding new content and images to different pages. I think the best way is to use a CMS to update content and images on a website. It is very easy to use for people with very little technical knowledge.

Is there one that is better than the other? I have never even used one myself. I always develop HTML/ASP/Java and upload...
My client needs total simplicity, she is used to vistaprint hosting, Which looks like some sort of frontpage type thing, point and click, drag and drop...
For a simple to use CMS (like Vistaprint's), check out SiteReptile (http://www.SiteReptile.com).

You may not need a sitebuilder but you could choose a web host with hosting plan that support installation of free scripts http://www.softaculous.com/softwares/galleries
After you subscribe to your hosting plan, install one of this photo gallery application on your customer account and give them access for login and let them add and manage photos :-)
Sudo-Host 01-06-2011, 12:26 PM Yea the CMS i was thinking about was something like Wordpress maybe. I think its pretty simple to use, once you set it all up for them you just show them how to add a new pages, a new news article and images.
technut 01-06-2011, 02:07 PM WordPress is currently the most used and 3rd party supported CMS around, not to mention all the free apps around that also support it. A good choice for a newbie if your not going to offer a site builder program.
