Anybody had signed up the Reseller Plan with VenturesOnLine? Any comments? I'm going to sign up...

Is the solution to hosting multiple domains a reseller plan or getting a virtual server?

Standard Reseller Plan. Not dedicated server nor colocation.

Some hosting companies are offering virtual server arrangements with out having to go the colocating or dedicated server route. There are multiple virtual server accounts on one server.

There are different kinds of arrangements, but I think the distinguishing feature of virtual servers is that you can add additional domains without purchasing additional accounts or paying additional fees. These are hard to find, but they are out there.

So, where are they?

This is an area where people may not be talking when they find a good one, but I think the discussion will be helpful. One of the largest, which comes close to the definition is Pair.com - they charge $15 setup and $1/mo for each domain with out requiring you to have additional accounts. Email is similar.

Webmasterbiz.com has a virutual server available for about $100 per month, but I'm not sure if there is a fee to set up the domain.

I have not used either of the above, but I have a friend who uses Pair.com and has been very happy with them.

In my case I have had a lot of very small accounts with very little traffic (this is changing) so the multiple domain issue was much more important than the disk or traffic limits. Many sites will give "5 million" email addresses and only one domain (who's using these?).

What have other people found? This would be a good list.

Thanks.

I have used pair.com in the past. When I requested to cancel my account, they continued to charge my credit card. E-mailing them got no response, and I wasn't able to call or fax them.

Definately start off with reselling, and then move to a server once your company starts to grow. You'll learn alot about the business by signing up with a web hosting company offering reseller accounts.... particularly with the support.

Speaking of that.... make sure whoever you choose as your web host offering reseller services gives timely and accurate support.... A MUST!

Cheers!
Rob.

Hi CrazyHostGuy,
Just visited your site. Frankly speaking, You have a very good idea to promote your business. But the only one thing is why you use CrayHo.......for your name!!?

Please do not angry with me, if I were the visitor, I won't dare to place the 'crazy' order.
Thank you very much for your kindness. Thanks.

I'm not angry.... I appreciate your honesty!!

We actually came up with that name only because we wanted something people would remember! I'm assuming that since you've bothered to ask, you'll likely remember the name?!

That's the only reason..... that and the fact that we consider our prices to be a little "crazy"!

this is not meant to be an advertisment... just responding to a question.

Cheers! :D
