I believe that it is important to always stay ahead of the customer in terms of the product offering that you are providing. If you continually exceed expectations than you have a very strong likelihood of building a thriving business. It seems that Weinbar understands the service component of this attitude.

I would like to ask for your help in better understanding what it is that you think customers want in a solution.

Customers/users could be in several categories:

1. Resellers
2. Web Masters/Developers/Gear Heads
3. The ultimate end-user - small and medium sized businesses.

I think that this info would be useful to everyone who is attempting to build a business.

In our experience, we find that the most commonly requested features from category 2 users are NT specific features like ColdFusion, ASP, MSAccess, MSSQL, etc and their own CGI bin.

Category 3 wants ease of use and features like Ad-managers, Mailing List Management, Webmail and Email, Template driven websites, automated plug-in scripts, Web Stats, website security/intranet applications, and others.

Would anyone like to share their thoughts?

Franc

I think one of the most (if not the most) important thing is a good communication between the webhost and the client. We need to know what's going on and we need good tech support. I know I need to trust my webhost. Trust that they will be there when I need help or have a question. That they will atleast tell me the truth when there is a problem and not BS me. Also the more features the better ofcourse. The better connection speed, less users on the server the better. But again, we need communication and tech support. I need to know my webhost takes care of a problem when it happens, I don't want to wait a day or two! A lot of people don't know much about the technical stuff and because of this they might get even more worried when there is a problem. If the webhost explains what the problem is and what they're doing to fix it, I'm sure there would be a lot of more happy customers.

Could some of your issues being addressed by better automation of requests?

For example, would the HumanClick live support product address your typical service issues?
