Were thinkkking of opening an openSrs account in order to register our clients domains. Just wondering which of you run this setup, and how long did it take you to get the API and the system all running?

Are you impressed with everything, was it worth the time and money?

I use them. It is a bit pricey 2 ways - must deposit at least $250 (25 domains) in order to use services when you run out and also the ssl's are $99 cost to you.

Enom, you can get as little as $6.95 domain and also places like RS you can get the certs for $49!!!

On the other side of the coin OPENSRS does kinda hold your hand a bit.

:D

This is EXACTLY what a reseller needs - hold your hand a bit. A few dollars won't make any difference. Actually, selling domain name registration has become a VERY difficult business when volume rules. So unless you are selling a million names a year like the big guys, stealing say $3 from a couple of thousands per YEAR doesn't make sense at all. I would say it is more a good value-added service for say ISPs or web designers. And for them, $10 is a good start. It's the service that matters because you are accountable to YOUR clients.
