I got a pipe for christmass and I did not have a cigarette, nor did I miss one since then. I enjoy smoking agin. I love the taste and all "ritual" around lighting and smoking the pipe. My family enjoyes smell and my 5 year old son wants to sit on my knees every time I light it. He hated cigarette smoke and I had to carefull not to smoke in the same area where he is.

I don't smoke, but pipe tobacco does smell nice to me. I've got a buddy that smokes a pack a day, I wonder if I can convince him to try a pipe instead :)

Im also a pack a day person, but I still don't smoke near any kids, and I sure wouldnt let a 5 year old kid sit on my knee while im smoking :stickout:

Pipe tobacco does smell better but I still would not recommend smoking around your child. I'm not a smoker but all my friends who do have children will not smoke in their house. It's a pain but for the better and I also don't come home smelling like I was at a bar or something. :D

On a local radio station there's this show on sunday afternoon, it's called "Cigar Dave's Show" or something like that.

ANyways, I listened once and it's just this guy trying to sound like he's an army general just sitting there talking about tobacco products and accessories. Whenever someone calls in he calls them "private", and if the person is new to smoking he calls them "new recrutes". But anyways, yeah, the guy is retarded, and he is my reason for not smoking. Just because I never want to be linked to someone as stupid as that.

I'm a smoker, but would never consider smoking in the same house as children...it's just wrong.

I remember one day I was at a restaurant and I saw this mother hand feeding her small child french fries with the SAME hand she was holding a cigarette in..each time the kid got a fry, she was also getting a nose full of juicy cigarette smoke..I kinda wanted to go and fart on her to try and see how she liked it...alas, I was eatting a greek salad, and not beans.
