zeytin13 12-17-2010, 01:09 PM I have to say I am pretty much a newbie on hosting solutions.
I have a website with 30.000 visits per day and it is using 40gb bandwidth per day. (That's the number that Godaddy shows me on the stats page) I am using Godaddys Grid Hosting.
But recently, we are getting a lot of 503 errors and the response time of the website seems pretty slow on primetime hours.
And I am guessing the reason for this is that Godaddy grid hosting cannot handle our traffic anymore. So i think I should upgrade the hosting.
I have to say that I don't want to pay more than $60 per month for hosting.
So what would be next step for hosing for me? Vps, cloud, dedicated or a better grid hosting besides Godaddy?
All advices are appreciated. Thank you.
HostingASPNet 12-18-2010, 06:12 PM Hello,
IMHO you will need a dedicated hosting, but you should increase a little bit your budget.
You could check for dedicated hosting providers in the Find a Host section - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/web-hosting-providers/

eNetCloud-CEO 12-19-2010, 04:24 AM I would suggest you to go with Windows based cloud hosting where the resources can be scaled up automatically and which will fulfill your requirements.
However looking at your budget you will need to increase for sure to get better set up for your website.
seoconsultant 12-19-2010, 09:27 AM i can suggest you to go with dedicated server.
GSalam 01-07-2011, 07:52 AM You may consider to increase your budget, as suggested by HostingASPNet above.
afam4eva 01-07-2011, 09:21 AM You need a VPS or dedicated server. Are u running it on a windows server cos i never knew godaddy offered windows hosting solution.
roykink 01-12-2011, 01:29 AM If you are familiar with windows based software then you may approach for windows based server other then you can go with Linux server.
expo09 01-12-2011, 06:40 AM Looking at those stats I think dedicated hosting is the way to go. But as hostingASPnet said, your budget might have to rise. For the best hosting you have to pay for it.

yes you are telling right its also a good way.
rich4114 01-15-2011, 12:48 PM I think dedicated hosting sounds like the best fit here as well
Motiv 01-16-2011, 02:24 AM What kind of code does your site run? PHP? ASP.NET?
gilbert 01-16-2011, 02:55 AM Litespeed webserver could be helpful possibly.
ProjectAuda 01-16-2011, 09:51 AM Dedicated server is your way to go.
Matthew-Hudson 01-17-2011, 05:45 PM I would definitely suggest to upgrade your cloud platform rather than a switch to a dedicated server platform or any other.
reswertious-adam 01-18-2011, 09:04 AM It seems to me dedicated server will be better for you, the OP.

Agree With him :agree:
HostASP 01-18-2011, 02:53 PM what application is running there? will there be increase in traffic in future? you may need plan for load balancing then, or would suggest first go for VPS that should be in your budget and slowly could move on to next if the app is fully under control and is easy for moving from one server to other
zeytin13 01-20-2011, 04:09 AM Well guys thank you for all the replies.
I have tried VPS hosting with EuroVps and it didn't work out for us. (I can tell more about my one week experience with them, if anyone is interested) so I had to switch back to godaddy again. Now, I am definitely looking for a dedicated. Thanks for all the insight.
gotlivechat 01-20-2011, 03:21 PM As others have mentioned $60/mo. isn't going to cover that kind of usage. A larger question though -- what is GoDaddy saying about the 503 errors on your site? I can't believe hardware's an issue, but then again...
zeytin13 01-20-2011, 04:33 PM Now we increased our budget to $125/per month and looking for a good dedicated windows hosting.
The number of concurrent connections on GoDaddy's grid hosting was limited with 10 connections. So, that was the thing causing the 503 error when there is too much traffic on the website.
charlesrshell 02-26-2011, 04:32 PM You need a dedicated webhosting. you can take from hostgator, rackspace or webhostingtalk.
HostASP 02-27-2011, 11:21 PM with this budget it is possible for you to rent a dedicated server, have a look at singlehop or softlayer. you may need managed servers.
