Lately this advertising forum has been filled with people advertising their portfolio/webdesign company. I personally feel these should be in another forum and leave this part for webhosts only. What do you think?

It's own area would be good though - might slow the quick drop to the bottom the ad page is suffering lately. I think everyone is begining to notice the increase in quick reposting and bumping Greg Moore xwebdesigner 05-02-2001, 11:50 AM I think there is way to many forums I think alot of topics can be discussed in on general forum (SH)Saeed 05-02-2001, 12:13 PM I get a little annoyed reading post like "i offer cheap webdesign, here is my portfolio..".. I think they should be put in another section where people that have work to offer or need work can post. Most forums have a job section. About there being to many forums, I have to dissagree. Because the way it is now you can go to the specific forum and read about the topics you want to read. You don't need to click on a forum and then sit there and filter out the threads. Then also the folder might get red and you go to that forum and it's about a topic you don't care about. This way you know when there's something intressting in that specific forum that has to do about what you're intressted in. amalgam 05-02-2001, 02:01 PM I don't mind it. Seer 05-02-2001, 03:50 PM The name of the site is WebHostingtalk and not webdesigntalk.. ( It's taken, I just checked :( ). I think most people come here for the hosting topics and while I think it's great that the advertising of webdesign is allowed, I still think it's best to keep it in a seperate forum. Also, if a host might be looking for a Web Designer, it's much easier to single it out this way. :) (SH)Saeed 05-02-2001, 04:19 PM zolbian hands over a beer to seer.. cheers.. DHWWnet 05-02-2001, 04:32 PM Yeah this site is webHOSTINGtalk not webDESIGN.... and while we are on topic can i also AVERTISE that i will do custom work on your car i can do suspension modifications, engine computer management tweaking and a few other cool stuff about cars. and to be ON the topic , i can also throw in free web hosting to those who will let me tweak their car's computer management  Let's keep this advertising forum about webhosting. my .2 cheers, elijah john :) CoreyC 05-02-2001, 05:16 PM I just registered webdesigningtalk.com if anybody is really serious about creating such forums. ;) Email me if you you are interesting in helping. (SH)Saeed 05-03-2001, 12:33 PM So you're going to start a forum like this but for designers? with vBulletin? CoreyC 05-03-2001, 01:16 PM I was actually looking at phpBB. I'd rather not go into it alone, as I already have enough to keep me busy. I registered the domain, and will donate the web space... I haven't gotten any emails about anybody wanting to help. If I can get a few people who are serious about getting involved, I will consider purchasing a vBulletin license. |
