Is there a web site that contains list of web hosting search/directory sites? Is there any ranking of those directory sites?

hostdirs is pretty new. You may want to just search on Google for "hosting directory" or something.

As to which is best for advertising; it is a trial and error thing. We have some we do great with and others that don't seem to work at all. While other hosting companies seem to have opposite results.

Or use Dmoz's list though my site isn't listed there yet.
