Hi Everyone - first time poster and hope you might know what software or direction I need to go in for the following setup:

The project on the table is a website where clients come to to upload a specific type of file that will be loaded into a database (we've got someone on the database end taht can run the db end of things) ...so what we need is a way for us to manage the accounts of the clients, plus an automated billing/creditcard setup ...automated reminders all of that stuff ... in essence really just what the big hosting companies do for websites - only thing is, we're not providing websites - but everything else that a hosting company does and needs we'll need. And on top of that a shopping cart for new clients to sign up with us.

Can anyone tell me something that is off the shelf out there (and I'm open to open source) or even something that might already be available on my cpanel ... so long as we can hookup our database on the backend - and also design our own web front end (thus bypassing all the cheesy off the shelf designs that are out there) ...

Considering you're needing a full client management, have you put any thought into something like whmcs or clientexec or the like? Then you can just write a custom module for it so it can interface/work with your custom setup?

Ultimately I would think that'd be the best route to go. Otherwise you'd be reinventing the wheel so to speak (unless there is a really decent open source one out there).

Justin - whatever those are - I suppose I haven't given them thought as this is the first I've heard of 'em - lol - but I'll look them up though - thanks.
