Hi,

First off -- I want to be up front -- I am already with Weinbar and intend to stay! However, I need a second site closer to east-coast and dtwebworks.com has come to my attention.

I have my own 1U server. For Weinbar, this comes to 50GB for $135/month. For dtwebworks.com it comes to $130/month...

Anyone able to provide more details about the quality of the network at dtwebworks?

I haven't studied backbones, are they mostly different (what I want)?

How has turnaround been with dtwebworks.com in terms of server install, server reboots, resolving outages, etc?

I understand these aren't easy questions, but it saves me time if you have already looked into this and can share!

Thanks.

I'm with dtwebworks.

I haven't really studied their backbone.

They had 2 T3 lines, now 4 - I think.
Qwest is their backbone which is an OC3 network or something like that.

As far as my clients are concerned the servers are fast. dtwebworks hasn't had any outages. Oops, sorry, Qwest was down once.

Reboots and technical faults are usually solved within 20 minutes of notifying them.

Server install, usually +24 hours. If you need it badly, I'm sure they can set it up the same day. I don't know.

Overall, I'm happy.

If it weren't for them, I wouldn't be able to offer my clients what I offer them and most probably won't be in business.

At this point I may have to pass on dtwebworks for this gig, as I want something a little closer to east coast for marketing reasons... and some other similar offers have come up.

However, I may be putting a server there for another project, I like the option they have of $35 + bandwidth only... even Weinbar wasn't able to match that!

Thanks to all for the replies both on formum and via email.

Dylan -- if you have a chance (or someone else) -- was their contract just month to month? With their $2/GB up front or $4/GB over... can you change amount every month?
