Umm... remember the special I was running for $45.95/year the other day? Well what did you think of it? Good deal, fair, sucks?
To refresh, you get 3gb transfer a month, 200mb diskspace and a free .com, .net or .org domain.
I'm thinking of making it a standard plan.

$3.83 per month for hosting and domain is a great price. I say you should make it standard.
cheers,

Yes, but this is a very basic hosting account (a little over 10 MB space and 100 MB transfer). Our larger packages are priced accordingly. We chose our pricing based on real numbers and factors - not just to be lower in price than everyone else.
Since I've worked very hard to offer the lowest price possible and still turn a profit (so that we can stay in business for many more years to come) - it worries me to see hosting companies offering things that I know to be "too good". Often hosting companies rely on getting new customers in order to pay for bandwidth used by existing customers. This eventually bites the company in the ass when they can't pay for tech support people, better equipment, etc.
I'm not implying that your offer is too good to be true...I'm just wondering how you do it! :)

It might be possible.
If there were also larger plans being sold which made more profit.
We started a domain reg service at http://www.ecalpemos.com where you get 10MB web space free with $20 domains.
That works out because we had a server already paid for by other monthly clients which had lots of room for these small, no cgi sites.
However, I think it would be difficult to sustain a business on cheap annual plans as you would presumably be paying the colocation monthly.
