For te most part, you just set up the domain in the control panel. Not sure if youi have one, or are just curious, or want to do something special?

I want to know how to map URL to directory on any server...
Let's say I am having my own server in my office & I want to host more then 1 domain on it & requires to map URL to directory.

Ok, well do you know anything about DNS? Can you modify the URL (the domain I'm assuming), so that the record at the registrar points to a nameserver?

You can use free DNS services such as http://www.mydns.com as the nameservers, and direct domains from *there* to your server IP address, and then set up domains on the server and the server will take care of where everything is supposed to go.

This is the layman's explanation and we can clarify anything that confuses you, but I'm not sure what you know/don't know exactly.

You really don't have to know how to map domains to folders exactly, as the server will take care of the directing for you (once you get the domain there).
