View Full Version : Webmin is better than H S P complete and Cpanel

Just finished testing a virtual private server at linuxdream.net for 3 weeks. Unfortunately, I was not impressed by the H S P complete control panel. The GUI is not well-done; i.e., you don't need graphics w/text and text down the side for the same thing. Also many menus were clogged with other sub-menus. That's confusing. Example: you don't need a "Manage Web Documents" under Web Server when you already have a "Web Documents" Icon.

And you really don't need "Web Documents" and "File Manager". The "File Manager" should include all directories and files. The included file mgr also had no edit feature, and none of their OK buttons worked on one of my browsers.

After using WebMin for the first time while at linuxdream.net, I was very impressed with Webmin, though. Being mostly a C Panel user and using WebHost Manager on a reseller acct previously, I really think that the FREE Webmin is much better than C Panel or H S P complete.

How are you going to setup virtual private servers with webmin?

You can not compare Webmin with the Control panels.
Webmin is to control full box. Where CP are for Hosting biz only.

:D

I meant the GUI of Webmin is better, though I wasn't as impressed with it's little sister, Usermin. I think I could compare Webmin with WHM though, and it seems to be better, though I admit the WHM I used at VO had features disabled so I could be wrong on that. I didn't know that you can't use Webmin for virtual private servers. Anyhow, I'm just saying that I found Webmin to be easy to navigate, featured-packed, and one of the best administrative control panels out there, and I'm happy that I got to try it.

I still like C Panel and Ensim, but not H Sphere or Plesk. I guess I need to check out an Ensim VPS next.
