View Full Version : I have an Ensim Question
mpkapadia 05-01-2001, 01:47 PM I just happened to check Ensim and Plesk site today.
I was not able to find that when i am creating a site (Name based hosting) thru Ensim
How do i specift the alloted bandwith per Month.
Else they can run out of the same and we cannot know how much they have used
I think this feature is there in Plesk.
Otherwise both the panels are more or less same i features
Please correct me if i am wrong.
I could have overlooked it

easygoing 05-03-2001, 11:02 PM We have been evaluating Ensim and had that same question.
The answer was that you can not monitor bandwidth usage with this product. Which has us looking again, as other wise it seemed like a good product for the price.
mpkapadia 05-03-2001, 11:49 PM ok
so this feature is really not there and i have not overlooked.
Easygoing- what other products have you evaluated

JBIZ718 05-04-2001, 04:15 AM In regards to this product I should probably start working for them. I seem to have spent too much time reading this manual.
In any event you can check the bandwith on each account quite easily.
Inside the admin panel one of the options is to check the stats for each domain. Acctually under actions the icon with the chart will get you all the stats for the domain.
In regards to allocating space for the name based domains. Be careful with name based domains, they slow down the system. Static IP's are always the way to go if you can. In any event you should set up plans allocating the specs you want on the server. Once this is done, you just allocate that plan for that account.
If you need any more help I can forward you our manual and or answer just about every question for the Linux version. We are still waiting for the win 2k version.

easygoing 05-04-2001, 11:37 AM I'm surprised that you are able to monitor the bandwidth with Ensim because I was told by the company that you could not do this when I called and asked.
I was told that I could use an external program with Ensim to monitor bandwidth, but I have the program they mentioned on another server and it does not do that good a job of monitoring bandwidth and is awkward to use, as you must manually add all the components to come up with a final number.
If it can actually monitor the bandwidth usage of each site, I will look at it again.
I am currently considering H-Sphere. It looks good and they state you can monitor per site bandwidth. But I have not thoroughly evaluated it so I'm not sure.
JBIZ718 05-04-2001, 12:00 PM In the admin side of the control panel, you can check the amount of transfer per domain.
