i want to regsiter a domain which has expired on 20th dec, but when i try to register it...... it says taken ?????

It varies depending on the registrar and which tld you're talking about, but generally it's about 45 days.

Dammit?? You should be VERY HAPPY if the name you want will actually be available in 45 days or so. At least one registrar NEVER drops domain names in such a narrow time window. For instance, I have waited more than 18 months to get clonecity.com.

Tell me about it.
I'm still waiting on a co.uk domain that is currently "Detagged" and according to WHOIS was last updated on 27-9-01

It's not really an important domain name but one the company I work for wouldn't mind getting their hands on Grrrrr
